The First Shell
Opening night — the full menu, one long table, first pour at 7 sharp.
✦ A pop-up botanical kava bar in Denver ✦
Kava shots, botanical mocktails and the art of doing absolutely nothing together — poured slow under low gold light. No hangovers. Full chill.
Next night · Fri 04 Sep · The Atrium, RiNo · Denver · 7PM–1AM · 48 seats
The Story
Nevertheless, Kava is a pop-up botanical bar for people who'd rather feel good than feel rough — wholesome nights out, zero guilt, all connection.
We set one long table and lower the lights. No phones glowing, no one shouting over anyone — just unhurried conversation, second rounds and the quiet luxury of a night out with nothing to apologize for. Come alone or bring your people; the table takes care of both.
For now, we pop up for a night at a time — atriums, coffee shops and rooftops around Denver, forty-eight seats, blankets on the chairs, records at 33⅓. A permanent home is in the works: location TBA. Nevertheless, we persist.
Came for one shell. Left with a group chat and Sunday plans.— Overheard at the long table, opening night
The Table
Kava has always been social glue — one bowl, many shells, nowhere to rush. We just set the table.
The only light that matters here is low and gold. Be where you are, with whoever you're with.
Kava moves around the table like a good story — pour for the person beside you before yourself.
The weather chat melts by the second shell. Ask the question you actually came with.
The best conversations open after the third shell. They always have.

Questions
The root of Piper methysticum — a pepper relative grown across the South Pacific, where it has kept evenings mellow for centuries. Ground slow, steeped and strained, it pours the color of storm clouds and tastes earthy and faintly peppery.
People describe an "awake calm" — loose shoulders, slower thoughts, conversation that slips past small talk and stays gone. No fog, no hangover, nobody shouting. Two shells in, you'll know your neighbor's name.
Almost. Kava, mocktails, teas and cacao carry no alcohol at all; the near-beers and kvass sit under 0.5% — kombucha territory. Nothing on this menu will fog your tomorrow.
Kava is for guests 18 and over. If you're pregnant, nursing, managing liver conditions or taking medication, check with your physician first — and please don't mix kava with alcohol.
Somewhere green in Denver, until the permanent location is announced (TBA). Reserve a shell ticket and the exact address lands in your inbox 48 hours before doors — or join the list and we'll whisper it to you first.
